Constantly evolving, Alejandra Icaza´s work creeps into the infinite path of Art to become an intrinsic part of it.
We envision Alejandra Icaza´s emotions in the furrows of her painting, her hand slips on the canvas like a snail, carried away by her personal experiences. The hand of the artist emulates the slow movement of the snail on the canvas, puncturing the fabric until the pattern , inspired on the snail´s dance, emerges.
She covers the canvas with paint and stains with a mixture of components that she combines until she obtains the desired texture, that "gummy" mixture that gives the work a very distinctive warmth.
The work acquires personality through drawings obtained with a sharp object guided by her own hand.
